Students For Liberty today announced that their alumnus, Julio Clavijo, has been appointed as the new Vice Minister of Economic and Social Inclusion in Ecuador. Clavijo took office on May 26, 2021.
He will be working closely with Minister Mae Montaño and the office of the President, Guillermo Lasso, on advancing entrepreneurship and innovation in the country.
“What I propose is to make universal what today belongs to a privileged minority. Let’s empower our people, by giving them not only the access but also the necessary tools to join the globalized world and, therefore, the process of economic development.”
We live in an era where great things have happened thanks to innovation. Everybody loves innovation and recognizes that is a force for progress. With the exception of maybe North Korea, no government in the world has an official policy to prohibit innovation or harass innovative people.
Her speech is direct and precise. Gloria Alvarez says what she thinks, and does not seem to be afraid of being ‘politically incorrect’ when talking about the most diverse issues, no matter how controversial they may be.
In the 70’s, Chile was a country devastated by Salvador Allende's interventionist policies. The socialist government had destroyed the economy and destabilized society, leaving the nation in a complete socio-economic ruin which was compounded by the lack of individual freedoms. Given the worrying situation, not surprisingly, the Chilean economy was moribund and other Latin American countries such as Mexico, Venezuela, and Argentina easily surpassed their standard of human development.
The socialist regime of Nicolas Maduro declares the German ambassador Daniel Kriener "persona non-grata" and gives him a period of 48 hours to leave Venezuela.
