MobileCoin Is Stepping Up For Ukraine

While most of the focus is on governments and NGOs, the private sector also has a role to play.

When a month ago Russia decided to brutally attack the Ukrainian people and their sovereignty, most of the attention of the public opinion turned to the role that governments and NGOs play in responding to the situation.

From those who advocate for a no-fly zone in Ukraine to those who believe in more sanctions against the Russian regime and its oligarchs, the message is clear: democratic governments have the responsibility of stepping up to the task.

While I agree that governments have the greater responsibility, influence, and capability to respond, I also believe that the private sector has a role to fulfill.

Much of the problem with dictatorial governments is that their oligarchs keep buying mansions in Miami and Yachts in France. In fact, their children usually do not live in Moscow, Caracas, or Tehran. They live in Madrid, London, and New York.

For this reason, I applaud the effort that so many companies have put into responding to Russia’s senseless and cruel actions against the Ukrainian people.

One action that I am particularly proud of is the work of MobileCoin.

MobileCoin is the first carbon-negative cryptocurrency. It’s designed to be used as digital cash on your phone via Signal App, with instantaneous transactions. It is probably the safest way to date to send money to people in danger areas completely anonymously and fast.

We at Freedom Today Network helped establish a connection between MobileCoin and Ukrainian Students For Freedom, which is a political organization in Ukraine created by alumni of Students For Liberty.

Led by leaders like Mykhailo Lavrovskyi and Daniil Lubkin, Ukrainian Students For Freedom has over 500 members and is currently fighting to preserve Ukraine’s democracy and sovereignty as a nation.

Thanks to MobileCoin and other private donors, our friends at Ukrainian Students For Freedom have been able to buy protective equipment, humanitarian & medical aid, etc.

This is particularly important to me, as I am the Director of Alumni of Students For Liberty. At SFL, my role is to empower our alumni so they can become even more influential and impactful at advancing liberty in all areas of society.

For everyone reading this article, I want to let you know that you can donate to Ukrainian Students For Freedom HERE

MobileCoin will match “the first $10 USD of MOB donated per person up to a limit of $100,000 USD of MOB.”

You can also donate to the Students For Liberty’s emergency fund for Ukraine HERE & Peace Love Liberty Association HERE
