The most terrifying feeling in the world is listing your mother as a missing person in Ukraine

From the first days of the war in Ukraine, Mariupol has been surrounded by Russian troops. On the seventh day of the war, I lost contact with my family there. The city is under constant shelling. This attack on our country is a genocide of Ukrainians, with a methodical destruction of houses, hospitals, maternity wards, and city infrastructure.

While most of the focus is on governments and NGOs, the private sector also has a role to play. 

When a month ago Russia decided to brutally attack the Ukrainian people and their sovereignty, most of the attention of the public opinion turned to the role that governments and NGOs play in responding to the situation.

Achieving peace in Ukraine is vital to Europe’s Future

Dear readers, 

Since 1939, there has never been a greater chance of war between two major countries in Europe than the one we face today. 

Ukrainian revolution of Dignity happened 5 years ago when I was finishing high school. It`s hard to imagine how it was for me, 17 years old student, to face such a traumatic experience. In the time when students usually need to prepare to exams that will define their future, I was watching live translations from Kyiv or participated in local protests in my city.

Soon, Armenians will celebrate the one year anniversary of the Velvet Revolution in their country, where the populism played a key role. This year another Eastern Partnership country, Ukraine, will face a difficult dilemma of populism in the choice of their new president.
